Our history

Jennifer Zerk Consulting was formed in 2009 and is the successor business to CSR Vision, a consultancy founded by Dr Jennifer Zerk in 2003. One of the few consulting firms specialising in CSR and the law, CSR Vision built up a solid reputation for high quality legal research, teaching, report-writing and comment. Over the years the consultancy has worked for a wide range of clients, including law firms, UN agencies, NGOs, construction companies, telecommunications companies and international organisations. This work has covered a raft of law-related topics, such as regulatory design and analysis, trade practices regulation, international law and policy, business and human rights, legal frameworks for multi-stakeholder initiatives and the role of the legal profession in CSR.

Jennifer Zerk (Principal) is a leading expert on law and CSR. With an international reputation, particularly in the field of business and human rights, she is a respected and sought-after consultant, researcher, commentator and speaker. She has advised on several significant law reform initiatives, most recently the International Commission of Jurists Expert Panel on Corporate Complicity in International Crimes and as part of a series of roundtables of legal experts advising Professor John Ruggie in his capacity as UNSG Special Representative on Companies and Human Rights. She holds a Masters in Law from the University of London and a PhD from the University of Cambridge .

Dr Zerk is the author of "Multinationals and Corporate Social Responsibility" (Cambridge University Press, 2006), the first book-length exploration of the international law context for CSR.
